Abstract

Zbog produljenja životnog vijeka sve je više starije populacije koja dulje ostaje tjelesno aktivna te pokazuje interese za tjelesne aktivnosti koje zahtijevaju dobru konstituciju i očuvanost zglobova. Zbog toga sve više raste potreba za ugradnjom umjetnih zglobova. Tijekom godina došlo je do poboljšanja u operacijskim pristupima, opremi, dizajnu endoproteza i materijalima od kojih su građene. Postoje dokazi o korisnosti fizičke aktivnosti nakon operacije, ali se malo zna o utjecaju sportskih aktivnosti i opterećenju koje ono donosi umjetnom zglobu. Razlog tome su prekratak period praćenja bolesnika i premalen uzorak. Pretjerana aktivnost dodatno opterećuje umjetni zglob i uzrokuje njegovo ubrzano trošenje. ----- Nastavak bavljenja sportskim aktivnostima ovisi o preoperativnom bavljenju sportskim aktivnostima, bolesnikovoj dobi i postojanju drugih komorbiditeta. Također ovisi o bolesnikovim očekivanjima, prethodnom iskustvu i najvažnije motivaciji. ----- Stručnjaci su napravili smjernice i bodovne skale kako bi što bolje ocijenili mogućnost vraćanja sportu i kako bi bolesnicima pravilno savjetovali koje sportske aktivnosti smiju, a koje ne smiju izvršavati nakon ugradnje umjetnog zgloba. Kako bi izbjegli nezadovoljstvo bolesnike moramo dobro informirati o mogućnostima bavljenja sportom nakon operacije.

Abstract (english)

Because of prolonged lifespan there are more older people who are physically active and show interests in physical acitvities which require good physical constitution and preserved joints. During the years, there have been mass improvements in operational approaches, equipment, design of endoprothesis and implanted materials. There is evidence of the benefits of
physical activity after an operation, but little is known about the influence of sport activities and the overuse they create on the artificial joint. Reasons for that are too short periods of monitoring the patients and too small of a sample. ----- Resuming the sport activity depends on preoperative practising of aforementioned activities, patient's age and the existence of other comorbidities. It also depends on the patient's expectance, previous experience with the problem, and most importantly, their motivation. ----- The experts made guidelines and point scales to evaluate the possibility of returning to sports better and to advice patients which sport activities they are allowed and which activities they are not allowed to do after the implantation of an artificial joint. To bypass the patients' displeasure we have to inform them very well about the possibilities of continuing doing various sport activities after an operation.
