Abstract

U današnje vrijeme sve se veći naglasak stavlja na interdisciplinarnu suradnju između različitih struka. Interdisciplinarna povezanost između umjetnosti i medicine, odnosno psihijatrije nije novoga datuma već se proteže dugo kroz povijest. Ispreplitanje umjetnosti i medicine nalazimo u ilustracijama medicinske literature, u umjetničkom stvaralaštvu liječnika, u korištenju različitih tipova umjetnosti (glazba, slikarstvo, film) u terapijske svrhe posebice kod onkoloških pacijenata, edukaciji profesionalaca medicinske struke i senzibilizaciji javnosti o bolestima i osobnim iskustvima primjerice putem filma.
U psihijatriji umjetnost je korištena u terapijske svrhe još od antičkih vremena, a danas je zastupljena u okviru art terapije i drugih kreativnih terapijskih tehnika (terapija filmom, glazbom, plesom i pokretom, biblioterapija).
Zahvaljujući razvoju tehnologije, ponajviše funkcionalnog imaginga putem magnetske rezonancije, locirane su specifične regije u mozgu koje sudjeluju u doživljavanju umjetničkih djela, odnosno aktivirane su u procesu art terapije.
U edukaciji medicinskih profesionalaca na području problema mentalnog zdravlja korištenje umjetnosti poprima sve veću važnost. U tu svrhu koriste se filmovi u kojima su vjerodostojno prikazane osobe koje boluju od određenog psihijatrijskog poremećaja te simulirani pacijenti, (posebno educirani glumci koji portretiraju pacijente oboljele od neke bolesti) kako bi polaznici savladali i poboljšali komunikacijske vještina s pacijentima i među kolegama i lakše se snalazili u različitim nepredvidim situacijama.
Umjetnost se može koristiti i u senzibilizaciji javnosti o problemima mentalnog zdravlja, odnosno kako bi se smanjila stigma koja prevladava o osobama koje boluju od psihijatrijskih poremećaja. Prikazani su primjeri takvog pristupa korištenjem filma, kazališta i vizualne umjetnosti.

Abstract (english)

Nowadays a lot of focus is put on interdisciplinarity in connecting different disciplines. Interdisciplinary connection between the arts and medicine in general and psychiatry in particular is not of a new date but has been present throughout the history. Interweaving of the arts and medicine can be found in illustrations of medical books, in works of art by physicians, in using different types of art as a means of therapy (especially with oncological patients), education of mental health professionals and sensitizaton of the general public about different diseases and personal experiences of illnesses depicted in films. In psychiatry the arts have been used as a therapeutic tool since ancient times, and nowadays they are used in art therapy and other creative art therapies such as cinematherapy, musicotherapy, bibliotherapy and dance and movement therapy. With the advancement of technology, particularly functional magnetic resonance imaging, localization of specific structures involved in art experience and experience of the process of art therapy has been made possible.
Using arts in education of mental health professionals has become more and more important. Films that accurately depict people suffering from a mental illness and simulated patiens (actors who were specifically educated to act as patients) are commonly used in order to master and improve communication skills with patients and colleagues, and to handle unpredictable situations more easily.
The arts can also be used in sensitization of general public about mental health problems and to decrease level of stigma that affects such patiens. Examples of using films, theatre and visual art for this purpose are being rewieved.
