Abstract

Nakupljanje čimbenika rizika – visceralne pretilosti, arterijske hipertenzije, dijabetesa, dislipidemije naziva se metabolički sindrom. Učestalost metaboličkog sindroma je u porastu u Hrvatskoj i u svijetu. Danas se masno tkivo, budući da luči citokine koje nazivamo adipokinima smatra aktivnim endokrinim organom. Sve više pažnje usmjerava se na aktivnost sustava renin-angiotenzin-aldosteron (RAAS) čije komponente, osim bubrega jednim dijelom sintetizira i visceralno masno tkivo te na utjecaj tih komponenti na inzulinsku rezistenciju i razvoj metaboličkog sindroma. Smatra se da bi se u skorašnjoj budućnosti liječenje metaboličkog sindroma i njegovih posljedica moglo usmjeriti na blokadu mineralokortikoidnih receptora i RAAS s ciljem sprečavanja komplikacija koje metabolički sindrom nosi (kronična bubrežna bolest i kardiovaskularne bolesti).

Abstract (english)

A collection of the following symptoms - abdominal obesity, arterial hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia is called metabolic syndrome. It is becoming a more common problem in both Croatia and the world.In light of the recent studies, the adipose tissue is considered an endocrine gland since it secretes cytokines, which named adipocytokines. More and more attention is being given on the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosteron system synthesized by the adipose tissue and its’ effect on the insulin resistance and development of the metabolic syndrome. It is considered that in the future, the key of treating the metabolic syndrome and the complications caused by it could be blocking of both the mineralocorticoid receptors and renin-angiotensin-aldosteron system, and with the aim to prevent the consequences of the syndrome itself (chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular diseases).
