Abstract
Genska terapija je jedan od teorijski najperspektivnijih pravaca razvoja terapije u današnjoj medicini. Podloga znanja o identifikaciji i prijenosu gena postoji već više od pedeset godina te su tehnološki postupci danas dovoljno napredovali za postizanje značajnih terapijskih rezultata. Ovaj rad pruža pregled nastanka i današnjih mogućnosti genske terapije. Također će biti prikazano novo područje epigenetičke terapije bolesti smatanja proteina pomoću farmakoloških pratitelja.
Abstract (english)
Gene therapy is one of the most promising therapeutic directions developing in medical science today. The groundwork of knowledge on the identification and transfer of genes has existed for over fifty years and the technological procedures are now sufficiently advanced for the achievement of significant therapeutic results. This paper aims to review the origins and current reach of gene therapy. The novel area of epigenetic therapy of protein folding diseases through the use of pharmacological chaperones will also be examined.
