Abstract

Bihevioralna terapija označava niz tehnika koje su nastale na temelju teorija i zakona učenja koji pretpostavljaju da je odstupajuće ponašanje nastalo iz procesa učenja uz odgovornost socijalne okoline, a usmjerena je na mijenjanje abnormalnog ponašanja, misli i osjećaja u kliničkim uvjetima. Metode koje se u bihevioralnoj terapiji koriste temelje se na otkrićima eksperimentalnih psihologa koji su proučavali normalno i abnormalno ponašanje. Pretpostavka je bihevioralnih prikaza fobija da su takva ponašanja naučena, no različiti su bihevioristi naveli različite mehanizme učenja, odnosno uvjetovanje izbjegavanja, modeliranje i operantno uvjetovanje, i sadržaje učenja u razvoju fobija. Bihevioralne tehnike, s posebnim naglaskom na izlaganje, čine važan dio tretmana fobija i daju vrlo dobre ishode liječenja, a mogu se koristiti samostalno, u kombinaciji s drugim oblicima psihoterapije ili u kombinaciji s farmakoterapijom. Bihevioralna se terapija pokazala najučinkovitijom u liječenju specifične fobije, dok se za liječenje agorafobije i socijalne fobije preporučuje i dodatak kognitivne terapije zbog složenosti samih poremećaja.

Abstract (english)

Behavioral therapy refers to a series of techniques based on theories and the principles of learning that assume that deviating behavior is generated from the learning process with the influence of the social environment, and is focused on changing abnormal behavior, thoughts and feelings in clinical conditions. Methods used in behavioral therapy are based on the findings of experimental psychologists who studied normal and abnormal behavior. Behaviorism interprets phobias as maladaptive behavior, learnt as any other behavior; different behaviorists have proposed different learning mechanisms, i.e. avoidance conditioning, modeling and operant conditioning, and learning contents in the development of phobias. Behavioral techniques, with a special emphasis on exposure, make an important part of the treatment of phobias and give very good treatment outcomes and can be used alone, in combination with other forms of psychotherapy or in combination with pharmacotherapy. Behavioral therapy has proven to be the most effective in the treatment of specific phobias, while adding cognitive therapy is recommended for the treatment of agoraphobia and social phobias due to the complexity of the disorders.
