Abstract

Trudnički rinitis oblik je kroničnog nealergijskog neinfektivnog rinitisa čiji simptomi nisu prisutni prije trudnoće te isti prestaju u postpartumu. Cilj ovog istraživanja je istražiti učestalost rinitisa u trudnica, pojavnost i karakter njegovih simptoma te utjecaj na kvalitetu života. Podaci su prikupljeni metodom ankete. Dobiven je 121 anketni odgovor i nakon isključenja po određenim kriterijima u analizu su uključene 83 ispitanice. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju prevalenciju trudničkog rinitisa u naših ispitanica od 42%. Kliničku sliku čini simptom nosne opstrukcije kao najzastupljeniji simptom te prema učestalosti i sljedeći simptomi: rinoreja, svrbež nosa, poremećaj njuha, glavobolja, postnazalna sekrecija i serijska kihanja. Medijan trajanja navedenih simptoma u trudnoći je 4 mjeseca, pojavnost im raste napretkom gestacije, a do njihove rezolucije dolazi u razdoblju između 4. i 14. postpartalnog dana. Rezultati ovog istraživanja također impliciraju kako u patogenezi nastanka trudničkog rinitisa spol nošenog djeteta može biti značajan čimbenik koji određuje njegovo prisustvo ili odsustvo tijekom trudnoće. Više od 50% trudnica s trudničkim rinitisom potvrđuje kako njegova prisutnost u trudnoći ima negativan utjecaj na kvalitetu života te je najveći broj ispitanih puerpera na VAS skali od 0 do 10 ocijenilo smetnju tih simptoma s 8. Prema podacima iz pregledane literature i temeljem rezultata našeg istraživanja zaključujemo kako je trudnički rinitis učestali klinički entitet široke simptomatologije s izravnim utjecajem na smanjenje kvalitete života u trudnoći.

Abstract (english)

Pregnancy rhinitis is a form of chronic non-allergic rhinitis not present before pregnancy that manifests itself during pregnancy with complete resolution of symptoms after delivery. The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of
pregnancy rhinitis the appearance and character of its symptoms, and its impact on quality of life. Survey data were compiled by the questionnaire method. One hundred and one participants completed the questionnaires and, after exclusion according to certain criteria, 83 participants were enrolled in further analysis. Each woman found with nasal symptoms was interviewed again one month after delivery, and was asked whether and when the symptoms had disappeared. Our findings show that the prevalence of pregnancy rhinitis was 42%. The clinical presentation of pregnancy
rhinitis included nasal obstruction as the most common symptom and other symptoms, including: rhinorrhea, nose itching, decreased sense of smell, headache, postnasal secretion, and sneezing. The median duration of these symptoms was 4
months with their complete resolution between 4th and 14th day after delivery. Our results also imply that the sex of a child can be the significant factor in determining presence or absence of pregnancy rhinitis. Thirty-five out of the 51 women with
symptoms of pregnancy rhinitis stated that these symptoms had a negative impact on their quality of life during pregnancy. According to the results of our research and the reviewed literature we can conclude that pregnancy rhinitis is a common clinical entity of wide-range symptomatology with a direct impact on the quality of life in pregnancy.
