Abstract

Hrvatska je kontinuirano izložena dugotrajnom procesu demografskog starenja. U 2011. indeks starenja iznosio je 115,0%, a koeficijent starosti 24,1%. Broj osoba starijih od 65 godina 1961.g. iznosio je 7,4% ukupnog broja stanovništva , a 2011.g 17,3%. Do 2020. godine predviđa se da će broj osoba starijih od 65 godina porasti za 13,6%, a starijih od 80 za 35,2%. Stariju populaciju karakterizira niz socijalno-ekonomskih razlika.
Fenomen starenja ime izrazit utjecaj na gospodarski, mirovinski, zdravstveni i socijalni sustav. Statističke procjene demografa obično se odnose na negativne značajke starenja na održivost i ravnotežu najvažnijih državnih sustava. Poput većine europskih zemalja i Hrvatska se ne čini spremnom za nadolazeće društvene promjene koje nam donosi starenje. Vodeće europske strategije za održiv razvoj definiraju starenje neiskorištenim potencijalom i mogućnošću za uključiv i održiv rast. Preporuča se korištenje resursa starijih osoba na nov, inovativan, kreativan i ekonomski učinkovit način. Vodeću ulogu pritom ima aktivno i zdravo starenje, povremeni i privremeni rad u mirovini i volontiranje.

Abstract (english)

Croatia is continuously exposed to the long-term process of demographic ageing. In 2011, the ageing index was 111.5%, and age coefficient 24.1%. The number of people older than 65, in 1961 was 7.4% of the total population, and in 2011 17.3%. By 2020, it’s estimated that the number of people older than 65 will increase by 13.6%, and older than 80 by 35.2%. The the older population is characterised by a range of socio-economic differences.
The phenomenon of ageing has a significant influence of economic, pension, health, and social system. Statistical estimates of demographers are usually referenced to negative features of ageing upon sustainability and balance of the most important state systems. Like the majority of European countries, Croatia too does not seem prepared for incoming social changes that ageing brings. Leading European strategies for sustainable development define ageing as unused potential and a chance for inclusive and sustainable growth. It is recommended to use the resources of elderly in a new, innovative, creative, and economically efficient way. For this, the leading role has active and healthy ageing, occasional and temporary work in retirement, and volunteering.
