Abstract

Kronična bubrežna bolest je dugotrajno, progresivno slabljenje bubrežne funkcije koja
dovodi do porasta i nakupljanja metaboličkih produkata u organizmu bolesnika.
Nadomještanje bubrežne funkcije provodi se hemodijalizom, peritonealnom dijalizom i/ili
transplantacijom bubrega. Pravilna i uravnotežena prehrana ima posebno veliku i značajnu
ulogu kod bolesnika s kroničnom bubrežnom bolešću.
Prehranu bubrežnih bolesnika treba prilagoditi osnovnoj bubrežnoj bolesti, stupnju oštećenja
bubrežne funkcije, poremećajima vode, elektrolita, krvnog tlaka,visini i tjelesnoj težini,
mišićnoj masi, dobi i spolu bolesnika. Kod bolesnika s kroničnom bubrežnom bolešću vrlo je
važna procjena i praćenje statusa uhranjenosti što je ključna sastavnica daljnjeg uspješnog
transplantacijskog liječenja bolesnika.
Transplantacija organa značajno produljuje životni vijek bolesnika s kroničnom bubrežnom
bolešću i poboljšava im kvalitetu života, a njezin uspjeh i oporavak bolesnika uvelike ovise i
o odgovarajućoj prehrani. Posebnu pozornost treba obratiti na količinu i kvalitetu
bjelančevina. Procjena stanja uhranjenosti provodi se metodama od jednostavnih mjerenja do
sveobuhvatnih obrazaca koji uključuju antropometrijske, biokemijske i subjektivne metode
procjene statusa uhranjenosti bolesnika. Liječenje takvih bolesnika je vrlo složeno i potrebna
je stalna suradnja medicinskih sestara, liječnika i bolesnika. Dobrom edukacijom i
suradljivošću bolesnika i njihovih obitelji možemo postići dobre rezultate kod bolesnika,
olakšati im boravak u bolnici kao i uspješan oporavak.

Abstract (english)

Chronic kidney disease is a long-term, progressive weakening of renal function that leads to
increased and accumulation of metabolic products in the patient's body. Replacement of renal
function may be performed by hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and/or kidney transplantation.
A proper and balanced diet plays a significant role in treatment of patients with chronic
kidney disease.
The diet of renal patients should be adjusted to the underlying renal disease, the degree of
impairment of renal function, disorders of electrolytes,volume status, blood pressure, height
and body weight, muscle mass, age and gender of patients. Assessment and monitoring of
nutritional status are vital components of further successful transplant treatment of those
patients.
Organ transplantation is a complex therapeutic procedure that prolonges survival and
improves quality of life. Proper nutrition is important for its success and recovery of patients.
Particular attention should be paid to the quantity and quality of protein. Assessment of
nutritional status is performed by methods ranging from simple measurements to
comprehensive patterns that include anthropometric, biochemical, and subjective methods of
assessing patient nutritional status. The treatment of such patients is very complex and
requires the constant cooperation of nurses, doctors, and patients. With good education and
cooperation of patients and their families, we can achieve good results for patients, facilitate
their stay in the hospital, and successful recovery.
