Abstract | E-Hitna je informacijski sustav hitne medicinske pomoći koji podržava i prati rad hitne medicinske službe u Republici Hrvatskoj te omogućuje medicinskim djelatnicima kontrolu nad svojim radom, bolesnicima zbrinjavanje unutar ''zlatnog sata'', a upravi bolji nadzor i praćenje svih poslovnih procesa u hitnoj medicini.

Parallel abstract (English) | E-Hitna is an emergency medical service communication system in the Republic of Croatia aimed to support functioning of emergency medical service that at the same time enables the medical professionals to control their activities, the patients to obtain care within "a golden hour", and the management to track and monitor business processes in emergency medicine. In the framework of prehospital emergency medical service in the Republic of Croatia, which is organized by the Croatian Emergency Medicine Institute, a nurse/medical technician carries out a health care for a patient, using an integrated information and communication system which supports all operations from receiving emergency calls to invoicing executed services. Besides the advantages, the system has also drawbacks including incomplete education of medical personnel and insufficient reliability of communication infrastructure what often slows down the system in case of overload, complicates work of medical professionals and takes away time of both, professionals and patients. The Zagreb county emergency medicine department exists three years and has the largest number substations (eight).
Basic aspects of an emergency medical service are shown by trademark of this exceptionally liable service, the blue star of life occurring at all department entrances, on protective clothing of the staff and on all vehicles. Accordingly, each of its arm denotes one of six basic steps in emergency care: early detection, early notifying, early response, delivery of care at the very spot of an event, care during the transportation and the transport to the hospital. |
