Abstract

Perfekcionizam se opisuje kao težnja savršenstvu, ali i potreba da se osoba okolini prikaže savršenom. Postoje različiti koncepti perfekcionizma koji ga dijele na jednu ili više dimenzija, ali glavna podjela perfekcionizma je podjela na adaptivni i maladaptivni perfekcionizam. Adaptivni perfekcionisti teže uspjehu, ali svjesni su svojih ograničenja i mogućnosti. Takve osobe zbog težnje savršenstvu postižu dobre rezultate u akademskoj i natjecateljskoj sferi. Za razliku od njih, maladaptivni perfekcionisti usredotočeni su više na strah od neuspjeha što je podloga za mogući razvoj depresije i anksioznosti. Rigidni stavovi o savršenstvu i postavljanje nerealnih standarda pronalazi se u poremećajima hranjenja i poremećajima ličnosti. Kod poremećaja hranjenja perfekcionizam ne predstavlja samo predispoziciju za razvoj bolesti već i problem pri liječenju. Narcistički poremećaj ličnosti isprepleten je s perfekcionizmom gdje osobe same sebe smatraju savršenom i iznimno važnom, a kod opsesivno-kompulzivnog poremećaja ličnosti rigidni perfekcionizam je jedna od sastavnica potrebna za dijagnozu poremećaja. Zaključno se maladaptivni perfekcionizam povezuje sa psihopatologijom.

Abstract (english)

Perfectionism is described as the pursuit of perfection, but also the need to portray yourself as perfect to others. Different concepts of perfectionism divide it into one or more dimensions, but the main division of perfectionism is adaptive and maladaptive perfectionism. Adaptive perfectionists strive for success but are aware of their limitations and possibilities. Such people achieve good results in the academic and competitive sphere due to their perfectionistic strivings. Unlike them, maladaptive perfectionists are more focused on the fear of failure, which is the basis for the possible development of depression and anxiety. Rigid attitudes about perfection and setting unrealistic standards are found in eating disorders and personality disorders. In eating disorders, perfectionism is not only a predisposition to the development of the disorder but also a problem in treatment. Narcissistic personality disorder is intertwined with perfectionism, where people consider themselves perfect and extremely important, and in obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, rigid perfectionism is one of the components necessary for the diagnosis of the disorder. In conclusion, maladaptive perfectionism is associated with psychopathology.
