Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad donosi pregled akutnih stanja u proktologiji, grani abdominalne kirurgije koja se bavi patologijom završnih dvadeset centimetara probavne cijevi- Fournierovom gangrenom, analnom fisurom, analnim apscesom i fistulom, pilonidalnom i hemoroidalnom bolešću, uz opis epidemioloških i kliničkih značajki kao i metoda dijagnostike i liječenja. Navedena stanja česta su u kirurškim i gastroenterološkim ambulantama i dijele mnoge zajedničke simptome kao što su bolnost, krvarenje, osjećaj punoće, poremećaj kontinencije te postojanje opipljivih masa. Obzirom na fiziološku ulogu ove regije, koja podrazumijeva defekaciju i kontrolu kontinencije, svi navedeni poremećaji značajno ometaju svakodnevno funkcioniranje, narušavaju kvalitetu života, a neki se ubrajaju i u životno ugrožavajuća stanja.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis gives an overview of acute conditions in proctology, a branch of abdominal surgery that adresses the pathology of the last twenty centimeters of the digestive tract, eg. Fournier's gangrene, anal fissure, anal abscess and fistula, pilonidal disease and hemorrhoids, a long with a description of epidemiological and clinical characteristics, diagnostic procedures and treatment options. The afore stated conditions are frequent in both surgical and gastroenterological practices and have many common symptoms such as acute pain, bleeding, a sensation of fullness, compromised continence and palpable masses. Given the physiology of the region, which implies defecation and continence control, any dysfunction considerably reduces quality of life and some of the conditions even qualify as life threatening emergencies.
