Abstract

Terapija kisikom ima ključnu ulogu u skrbi za novorođenčad koja se suočava s respiratornim poteškoćama uslijed nezrelosti dišnog sustava. Pritom, važno je istaknuti da primjena terapije kisikom može izazvati i brojne nuspojave koje zahtijevaju pažljivo praćenje i liječenje. U ovom diplomskom radu opisana je primjena terapije kisikom i navedene moguće nuspojave. Prikazani su različiti poremećaji respiratornog sustava koji zahtijevaju terapiju kisikom, poput sindroma respiratornog distresa, perzistentne plućne hipertenzije, sindroma aspiracije mekonija i pneumonije te različite metode primjene terapije kisikom, kao što su nadoknada kisika, kontinuirani pozitivni tlak u dišnim putovima (CPAP) i mehanička ventilacija. Kako bi se uspješno prevenirale moguće nuspojave terapije kisikom koje uključuju oštećenje pluća, retine, mozga i eritrocita, ističe se važnost praćenja oksigenacije i postavljanje ciljane saturacije kisikom.

Abstract (english)

The application of oxygen therapy plays a crucial role in the care of newborns facing respiratory difficulties due to the immaturity of their respiratory system. However, it is important to emphasize that oxygen therapy can be associated with various side effects that require careful monitoring and management. In this work, the application of oxygen therapy is examined, and the potential side effects are discussed. Different respiratory disorders that require oxygen therapy, such as respiratory distress syndrome, persistent pulmonary hypertension, meconium aspiration syndrome, and pneumonia, are presented, along with various methods of oxygen administration including oxygen supplementation, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and mechanical ventilation. In order to successfully prevent potential side effects of oxygen therapy, which include lung damage, retinal damage, brain damage, and erythrocyte damage, the importance of monitoring oxygenation and establishing target oxygen saturation levels is emphasized.
