zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) 11. ožujka 2020. godine. Prvi slučaj zaraze u
Republici Hrvatskoj zabilježen je 25. veljače 2020. godine. Ova bolest se u kratkom
vremenu pojavila i proširila čitavim svijetom, a svijet se ujedinio u rješavanju ovog
problema.
čitavog organizma, a najviše pluća.
Abstract (english) Covid 19 is the name of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The
beginnings of the disease originated in distant China at the end of 2019. The rapid
and uncontrolled spread of this new disease led to the declaration of a global
pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. The first
case of infection in the Republic of Croatia was recorded on February 25, 2020. This
new disease spread all over the world in a short time, and the world united in
managing this problem. The symptoms were various, and along asymptomatic
cases, chronic sequelae were also recorded, which created even more questions
about this virus.
After infection, recovery from the disease and disappearance of symptoms,
many people considered themselves safe from re-infection, but this turned out to be
incorrect.. Since the end of the pandemic has not yet been declared, due to the
periodic decline and increase in the number of new patients, research and testing of
new drugs, vaccines and ways to prevent the spread of infection have not been
completed. Furthermore, we face another problem - the post-Covid syndrome, which
involves many different symptoms of the entire organism, especially the lungs. The
real consequences and the exact number of deaths, both from the infection itself and
from the consequences of the virus is yet to be known.
The aim of this paper is to summarize the infection with the causative agent of
the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the onset of the disease in December 2019 until August
2022. Point out the consequences that appeared over the weeks and months after
recovery from the acute disease. Different teams of medical personnel from various
domains participate in the treatment of these consequences. Pulmonary
rehabilitation exercises that improve lung capacity and the role and tasks of the
nurse in performing activities that contribute to recovery is highlighted.
