Abstract

Ovaj rad detaljno istražuje organizacijske aspekte zdravstvene službe u Republici Hrvatskoj
tijekom pandemije, s fokusom na suočavanje s izazovima prouzročenim pandemijom bolesti
COVID-19. Uvod pruža pregled teme, dok se drugo poglavlje usredotočuje na teorijska
obilježja pandemije. Poglavlja koja slijede opisuju početak pandemije, ulazak virusa u Hrvatsku
te mjere zaštite koje su bile poduzete kako bi se suzbilo širenje virusa među stanovništvom.
Posebno se analizira organizacija zdravstvene službe u novonastalim uvjetima pandemije.
Opisuju se nova trijažna mjesta izvan klinika, kao što su šatori i kontejneri, te izolacijske
jedinice koje su ključne za kontroliranje širenja infekcije. Također se razmatra organizacija
zdravstvene službe tijekom prirodnih katastrofa poput potresa te uloga sestrinske skrbi u
zbrinjavanju bolesnika. Poglavlje o zaštitnoj opremi i trijaži bolesnika naglašava važnost
pravilnog oblačenja zaštitne opreme i preciznog skeniranja bolesnika kako bi se osigurala
sigurnost zdravstvenih radnika i brza identifikacija zaraženih osoba. U nastavku se opisuju
protokoli za prijem i sestrinsku skrb na bolničkom odjelu, posebno ističući specifičnosti
pristupa oboljelima. Rad također istražuje organizaciju jedinica za intenzivno liječenje tijekom
pandemije te opisuje postupke u tim jedinicama, uz poseban naglasak na pružanje kritične skrbi
pacijentima oboljelim od COVID-19. Prevencija nozokomijalnog prijenosa virusa SARS-CoV2 u bolničkom okruženju je još jedan ključni aspekt koji se razmatra, pri čemu se analiziraju
strategije i protokoli za minimiziranje rizika prijenosa infekcije među bolesnicima i
zdravstvenim osobljem.

Abstract (english)

This final paper thoroughly explores the organizational aspects of healthcare services in the
Republic of Croatia during the pandemic, with a focus on addressing the challenges posed by
the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The introduction provides an overview of the topic, while the
second chapter focuses on the theoretical characteristics of a pandemic. Subsequent chapters
describe the onset of the pandemic, the entry of the virus into Croatia, and the protective
measures taken to contain the virus spread among the population. The organizational structure
of healthcare services under the new pandemic conditions is particularly analyzed. New triage
points outside clinics, such as tents and containers, and isolation units crucial for controlling
infection spread are described. The organization of healthcare services during natural disasters
like earthquakes is also discussed, along with the role of nursing care in patient management.
The chapter on personal protective equipment (PPE) and patient triage emphasizes the
importance of proper PPE donning and accurate patient screening to ensure healthcare worker
safety and swift identification of infected individuals. Further, protocols for admission and
nursing care in hospital departments are described, with specific attention to tailored approaches
for the afflicted. The paper also investigates the organization of intensive care units during the
pandemic and outlines the procedures within these units, with a special focus on providing
critical care to COVID-19 patients. Preventing nosocomial transmission of the SARS-CoV-2
analysis of strategies and protocols for minimizing the risk of infection transmission among
patients and staff.
