Abstract

Magnetska rezonancija (MR) neionizirajuća je radiološka metoda oslikavanja koja detaljno rekonstruira slike tkiva i organa ljudskoga tijela. U današnjoj medicini, MR ustaljeno se rabi u oslikavanju ženske zdjelice jer ima visoku kontrastnu razlučivost tkiva, omogućuje precizno proučavanje anatomskih obilježlja zdjelice kao cjeline odnosno omogućuje njen detaljan i slojevit prikaz. Stoga, uporaba oslikavanja MR-om u znatnom je porastu osobito u ginekološkoj onkologiji. Štoviše, MRI ima važnu ulogu u procjeni ginekoloških tumora - od otkrivanja bolesti do praćenja odgovora na terapiju i ranog pronalaženja recidiva. To uključuje lokalnu karakterizaciju malignih novotvorina, određivanje stadija bolesti, planiranje postupaka liječenja i procjenu postterapijskog odgovora. Cilj ovog rada bio je pregled uloge MR u dijagnostici ginekoloških tumora.

Abstract (english)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-ionising medical imaging technique that recreates detailed images of the tissues and organs of the human body. In today's medicine, MRI is routinely used in female pelvis imaging because it has a high soft-tissue contrast, allows an accurate anatomic characterization of the pelvis as a whole and also provides detailed depiction of zonal anatomy. Therefore, the use of MRI imaging is increasing at a great rate especially in gynecological oncology. Furthermore, MRI plays an important role in the assesment of gynecological tumors - from disease detection to treatment response monitoring and early recurrent disease evaluation. It includes locoregional characterization of malignant diseases, disease staging, treatment planning and the evaluation of posttherapeutic response. The aim of this study was to review the role of MRI in the diagnosis of gynecological tumors.
